To expand our UV range, we developed a new UV putty suitable for smaller repairs. Colad Fast Curing System UV Putty Transparent is a UV putty specially developed to fill tiny rock chips. Just fill, sand and polish to achieve an even surface and avoid spraying too large an area. Perfect for smart and spot repairs. The putty is a single-component, ready-to-use product that is easy to apply to various substrates, like metal and plastics. The putty can be easily applied with the included Colad Paint Touch-Up Sticks to fill even the smallest chips. Easy to dry with the Colad Fast Curing System UV Curing Light, with a maximum curing time of 5 seconds. The small repair is ready for further processing immediately after curing.

Ultraviolet Curing

UV curing (ultraviolet curing) is a photochemical process in which the operator uses ultraviolet light from a specially designed tool to instantly dry UV curing products (such as coatings, primers and adhesives). To ensure profitability and streamline work processes, UV curing technology is being increasingly used in various paint processing markets.
The Colad Fast Curing System UV Curing Light emits high intensity UVA LED light, with a spectrum of 395 ± 5 nm. This specific UV wavelength can be used to harden special UV drying products (coatings, putties and adhesives). The UV spectrum of 395 ± 5 nm activates the hardeners in specific UV drying products. The resins in these kinds of products harden the product in a matter of seconds, up to a minute. The user sprays or spreads the product on the surface and then activates the UV curing light on the UV product (close to the surface). In a few seconds (or a minute or so for a larger surface), the surface will have hardened/dried, and the user can switch off the UV light and move on to the next step in the process. In this sense, the Colad Fast Curing System UV Curing Light is used for very short periods of time. The closer the light source is held to the surface, the higher the actual UV radiation on that particular surface. Holding the light further away makes it possible to cure a larger area, but the intensity per area unit is reduced. The Colad Fast Curing System UV Curing Light will only cure products for which the curing properties are activated by or close to 395 ± 5 nm. Always consult your UV product supplier to ensure the product cures at this wavelength.
Fast Curing System
In 2021 Colad introduced the Fast Curing System, with an easy-to-operate and powerful UV curing light and two extremely fast drying UV putties. This system is now complemented with the new UV Putty Transparent.
- Easy-to-operate and powerful UV curing light
The Colad Fast Curing UV light can be used to cure UV curing putties, UV curing paints and UV curing primers and body fillers on both small and larger areas, significantly reducing curing time between process steps. It is equipped with high-intensity UV LEDs and cures with app. 300 mW/cm2 power. The cured surfaces are immediately ready for further processing. There is no need to wait to polish or sand. It can be used for both spot repair projects and to cure larger areas or body panels. The Colad Fast Curing UV light offers constant UV intensity combined with smart cooling. The lightweight design makes it easy to operate, and the light is wired with a cord, so it is always at your service.
- Extremely fast drying UV putties
The Colad Fast Curing System introduces two all-round UV putties, perfect for smart repair as well as spot repair. The Colad UV coarse putty can be used for filling small cracks, dents and stone chips. The Colad UV fine putty can be used for filling even the smallest micro-holes. The putties are a one-component product, making them easy to apply. They offer easy dosing from the tube and are ready to use. There is no need to add a hardener. The putties are easy to dry with the Colad UV curing light and are immediately ready for further processing. The extremely short curing time makes them extremely suitable for SMART repair and ensures that you can finish your project in no time at all.
